Did You Know …?

It is estimated that over a third of the world’s population own a digital camera or a device which can be used for taking photos … This makes for a very large number of photographs being taken every single minute of every single day!

What happens to all these photos? What do you do with your photos? Are you a digital convert with photos stored in the cloud, or do you have boxes of pre-digital happy snaps waiting to be sorted …?

The digital age allows us to document every waking minute of our lives. While this provides fantastic opportunities, it can also be a challenge to keep track of ever-growing media libraries. In some cases, all and sundry (the Good, the Bad and the Ugly) find their way to social media sites, where friends and lesser beings can ‘like’ or ‘un-like’ depending on whether they had coffee for breakfast or not …

A few de-stressing ways to manage photos:

  1. Think before you shoot (sometimes NOT taking the photo can be the right thing)
  2. When you take a really good photo – save it, copy it, and preserve it – straight away! You don’t want to be searching for your best work months later, with no idea where to find it …
  3. By keeping track of the photos you like and are happy with, it is much easier to move on to editing, sharing and publishing your work.
